About

Learn Thai Fonts is a free quiz app that trains you to read Thai fonts across different real-world styles — not just one textbook typeface. Each round shows a Thai word or phrase in a randomly chosen font, and you pick the correct English meaning from four options.

Most Thai learning tools display text in a single standard font. In everyday life, Thai appears in looped, loopless, handwritten, and decorative styles on menus, signs, and packaging. This app makes font recognition the core skill, so you can read Thai wherever you encounter it.

I built it for anyone living in or visiting Thailand who wants to read real Thai — not only romanized transliterations. Browse all quiz topics to find vocabulary for food, travel, shopping, and more.

Frequently asked questions

What is Learn Thai Fonts?

Learn Thai Fonts is a free quiz app that trains you to read Thai text across different real-world fonts — not just one textbook style. Each round shows a Thai word or phrase in a randomly chosen font, and you pick the correct English meaning from four options.

Why is it hard to read Thai in different fonts?

Most Thai learning tools display text in a single standard font. In everyday life, Thai appears in looped, loopless, handwritten, and decorative styles on menus, signs, and packaging. Different fonts change how characters look — loops disappear, strokes thicken, and letter shapes shift — which makes the same word hard to recognize if you have only seen one style.

How does the quiz work?

Choose a topic category and difficulty level, then start a quiz round. You see a Thai word displayed in a random font, hear optional audio, and select the correct English translation from four choices. The app tracks your progress when you sign in, and words rotate through all 18 included Thai fonts so you build font recognition alongside vocabulary.

Is Learn Thai Fonts free?

Yes. The app is completely free to use. You can play quizzes without an account; signing up is optional and lets you track progress across difficulty levels.

Which Thai fonts are included?

The app uses 18 Google Fonts Thai typefaces: Sarabun, Noto Sans Thai, Chakra Petch, Mitr, Kanit, Prompt, Anuphan, Itim, Sriracha, Athiti, Pattaya, Charm, Chonburi, Playpen Sans Thai, Thasadith, Krub, Niramit, Srisakdi. They cover looped, loopless, handwritten, and decorative styles found in real-world Thai text.

Do I need to know Thai already?

No prior Thai knowledge is required for easy-level quizzes, which focus on common single words. Medium and hard levels introduce phrases and questions that are more useful once you have basic vocabulary. The app is designed for anyone living in or visiting Thailand who wants to read real Thai — not only romanized transliterations.
